Board of Trustees Meeting
April 11, 2016
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room B at the library on Monday, April 11, 2016. President Bill Menendez called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Board members in attendance were Chris Bergren, Dave Johnson and Holly McAvoy. Mary Farrell attended via Skype. Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present.
Citizen’s Input No citizens were present.
Secretary’s Report Dave moved that the minutes from the March meeting be accepted; Ray seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by voice vote.
Financial Report Holly made a motion that the financial report be accepted; Chris seconded the motion and all in attendance voted “yes.” Two additional bills were added to the bills to be paid. Ray made a motion that the bills be paid; Chris seconded the motion and it passed by roll call vote, all members in attendance voted “yes.”

GIFT Foundation Katie Andrios and Mark Grywacheski, board members of GIFT, were in attendance to answer board members’ questions about GIFT’s affiliation with the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend.
LED Project Verstraete Electric has completed the project and gave an estimate for replacing remaining lights.
Per Capital Grant A letter from Jesse White, Secretary of State/State Librarian advised us that the Per Capital Grant of $11,279.85 will be awarded to the library; however, due to financial conditions with the state budget, the payment may be significantly delayed.
Johnson Controls The three-year contract with this company will be up for renewal. Dave will contact TMI to get a quote from them before any action is taken.
Roof A wind storm that came through on Saturday, April 9, presented dangerous conditions: shingles were uplifted from the roof falling to the ground. This caused the decision to close the library early that day in the interest of public safety. Wilson Construction was contacted about roof repairs and submitted an estimate for repair. Ray moved that their bid be accepted. Our insurance company will pay part of the cost, leaving us with $3,162 due.
Resignation Brant Betcher turned in his two weeks’ notice.
Adjournment – With no further matters before the board, at 8:16 p.m. Bill moved to adjourn; Holly seconded the motion, all agreed by voice vote. The meeting was dismissed.
