The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, April 9, 2018. President Bill Menendez called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Board members in attendance were Christine Bergren, Lee Fluck, Paul Pardo and Ray Rogers. Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present.
Anne Meyer-McCright was sworn in to fill a vacancy on the board.
No citizens were present
The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. Thank you notes from the magician who performed for a children’s program and Rutabaga Arts were read aloud.
The Financial Report was reviewed and will be filed for the auditors. Lee made a motion to pay the bills, Paul seconded the motion, and the board unanimously agreed to the motion by roll call vote. Jim reported that the two CDs were renewed at higher rates. He also stated that the levy notice increased (this will come in June). A check for $11,361.65 for the Per Capita Grant was received and deposited.
Please refer to Claire’s written report.
Chris made a motion that Claire’s raise be 3.5%, beginning on January 1. Paul seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by roll call vote by all board members present.
Paul moved that the minor revisions made to the policies regarding Holiday Time Off Requests and Inclement Weather/Snow Days be accepted. Anne seconded the motion and by roll call vote, it passed unanimously by all members present.
Claire asked for four quotes for the awning project over the delivery door. Only two companies responded. Paul made a motion that the bid from Double S Masonry be accepted with a change of spacing of supporting boards every 16” versus 24” and that the amount not exceed more than $200 over the original quote. Ray seconded the motion and all members presented voted unanimously by roll call vote to proceed.
The free tax preparation service that is offered through the Kiwanis here at the library is very popular. If the clientele gets much bigger, there may have to be some restrictions on who is served.
With no further matters before the board, at 7:29 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
