Board of Trustees Meeting
April 10, 2023

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, April 10, 2023. Board President Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Carol Luciani and Ray Rogers.

Installation of Member

Monica Vorac was sworn in as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Citizen's Input

No citizens were present.

Secretary's Report

The minutes from last month's meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid

Karen C. made a motion to pay the current bills. Carol seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote. Carol moved to approve the Financial Report. Lee seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted "yes" by roll call vote.

Happenings at the Library

The plaque for "Just Visiting" has been installed. Claire received a grant from Wal-Mart for $1,000 to be used for programs held at the library. Due to low patron readership and the fact that items were not published in a timely fashion, the subscription to The Republic has been cancelled and all notices regarding the library will now appear in The Argus.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Building

The ADA-compliant curb will be cut soon.

Bookends

Sheila brought in several completed bookends; more to come.

NEW BUSINESS

Security Camera

Several incidents involving patrons abusing/stealing from the library were discussed. Claire will get quotes on security systems, Karen C. will get information on the Food Pantry's security cameras and Claire will get input from other library directors at their meeting in two weeks.
