Board of Trustees Meeting
August 14, 2023

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, August 14, 2023. Board President Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Janet Klavohn, Ray Rogers and Monica Vorac.

Citizen’s Input No citizens were present.

Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid Lee moved to pay the current bills. Karen C. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. Karen T. moved to approve the Financial Report. Janet seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.

Happenings at the Library The Per Capita Grants pay for the many programs we offer. The Bishop Hill Ladies will be here on September 27 and Laura Keys/Leslie Goddard will be coming on October 7. The “Spook the Loop” event honoring “Eddie Munster” was a huge success with around 3,000 people turning out.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Security System Lee gave an update on his work; it is 2/3 complete.

Reading Garden It was mutually agreed by the Board to go ahead with the plans for this garden, to be accessed through the Teen Section.

NEW BUSINESS

Children’s Department This item has been tabled until next month.

New Board Member With the resignation of member Carol Luciani, Karen C. moved that Ann Lobdal be asked to join the board. Monica seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted yes. Claire will call her.

Adjournment With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
