Board of Trustees Meeting
December 11, 2017
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, December 11, 2017. President Bill Menendez called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Board members in attendance were Christine Bergren, Lee Fluck, Holly McAvoy, Paul Pardo and Ray Rogers. Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present.
Citizen’s Input No citizens were present.
Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. Correspondence read: a thank you card from admin and staff for the money given to them for their annual Christmas gift. Another thank you card was written by Deb Wyffels, who thanked the Board for the Christmas money, the raise she (and the staff) will receive in January, and for their confidence in her this past year.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid. The Financial Report was reviewed and will be filed for the auditors. Paul made a motion to pay the bills, Chris seconded the motion, and the board unanimously agreed to the motion by roll call vote. Jim Luikart stated the annual audit was finished and a representative from his firm will discuss it next month.
Library Director’s Report Please refer to Claire’s written report.
Technology Plan Was reviewed and some minor changes to it were suggested.
Director Review Will be done in January.
Run Hide Fight Due to the recent shootings happening all over the world, a security officer gave a presentation on what steps to take if there should be a dangerous person in the building. A short video was shown to the Trustees.
Literacy – Per Capita Claire explained how some specific adults come to the library to get help with reading and comprehension (adult literacy).
Trustee Fact File Was reviewed and discussed.
Adjournment With no further matters before the board, at 8:20 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
