Geneseo Public Library District
Board of Trustees Meeting
February 14, 2022

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Geneseo Public Library in Foundation Room A in Geneseo, Illinois.  Board President Ray Rogers called the meeting to order at 6:28 p.m.  Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Carol Luciani, Paul Pardo and Karen Turner. 

Citizen’s Input   No citizens were in attendance.

Secretary’s Report   The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. 

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid     Paul made a motion to pay the current bills.  Lee seconded the motion and all members voted “yes” by roll call vote. Paul moved to approve the Financial Report.  Carol seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. 

Happenings at the Library   Claire advised the board that a decision needs to be made soon regarding the outdoor sculpture.  Feedback from patrons has been good regarding the link on the library’s website for free government Covid tests. A demonstration of the new Story Cube will take place at the end of tonight’s meeting.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Roof   Bids for the metal roof will be opened on February 24 at 4 pm at the library.  

Sculpture   Karen C. made a motion to purchase the sculpture.  There was no second to the motion.  No action was taken at this time.  Claire will send board members a link to all sculptures available in this program.

NEW BUSINESS

Mask Mandate   Effective February 28, Governor Pritzker is lifting the mandate to wear masks in Illinois. Paul made a motion that the library allow patrons the option to wear one inside the library.  Karen T. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.  This goes into effect February 28, 2022.

Adjournment   With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 6:57 p.m.
