Geneseo Public Library District
Board of Trustees Meeting
February 13, 2023

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, February 13, 2023.  Board President Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m.  Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Jan Klavohn (via Zoom) and Ray Rogers.

Citizen’s Input   No citizens were present.

Secretary’s Report   The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. 

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid     Karen T. made a motion to pay the current bills.  Karen C. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. Ray moved to approve the Financial Report.  Karen T. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.  

Happenings at the Library   Impact Life is very happy with the number of donors who are coming here to give blood; more blood drives have been scheduled.  Pippi and Daniel, a music duet, will perform on February 25. The donations to the Joni Beck Memorial Fund are at $1,565. In a partnership with Blackhawk College, lectures will be held here in May. 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Building   Pat Mahar was present but no actions were taken regarding the building. 

Bookends  Sheila Wigant-McGee brought a pair of her finished bookends. She will use plaster, which would allow her to produce more bookends sooner but still retain the integrity of them. She took orders and will provide 6 pairs to the library to sell.
