Board of Trustees Meeting
February 10, 2025

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, February 10, 2025. Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:28 p.m. Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Jim Henson and Monica Vorac.

Citizen’s Input

David Jost was present.

Secretary’s Report

The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid

Monica moved to pay the current bills. Karen T. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. Karen C. moved to approve the Financial Report. Jim seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.

Happenings at the Library

We have 250 children enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library; it is well received. The tax appointments filled up quickly; there are no more openings. The shade has been installed in the Children’s Room. A new YouTube channel has been created to host historical videos. An elderly patron suggested to Claire that we look into installing a railing for those patrons who need assistance walking from the parking spaces.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Reading Garden

Pat Mahar is working with architect Dave Nichols of Bruner Cooper and Zuck. East Moline Glass provided him a rough contract to do the window breakout for $24,885. Karen C. moved that the Board accept the bid; Karen T. seconded the motion and all members present voted “yes.”

NEW BUSINESS

Re-Keying Doors

Claire was told by going keyless, we could save money, but she checked with our insurance company, and that is not the case, so the matter was dropped.
