Board of Trustees Meeting
January 9, 2017
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room B at the library on Monday, January 9, 2017. President Bill Menendez called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Board members in attendance were Christine Bergren, Dave Johnson, Holly McAvoy, Craig Patterson and Ray Rogers. Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present. Board member Mary Farrell attended the meeting via Skype.

Executive Session At 6:34 pm, Ray moved that the Board go into Executive Session. Craig seconded the motion and all present voted “yes.” No action was taken, and at 6:45 pm Ray moved to return to regular session. Craig seconded the motion and all voted “yes.”
Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. Thank you cards from Claire, Jenn Johnson and Mary Gorman were read. Faith DeDecker wrote to thank the staff for their helpful attention.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid. The Financial Report was reviewed and will be filed for the auditors. Craig moved that the bills be paid; Holly seconded the motion and it passed by roll call vote, all members in attendance voted “yes.”

Board Training Claire showed the Board the certificate she received for taking the online Freedom of Information and Open Meetings Act training and reminded board members that they needed to have this done this month. The website address was included in her repor
New Board Members Claire reminded the board that the applicants for board positions are: Lee Fluck for 2-year position and Paul Pardoe for 4-year position. One position would remain, and that would be by Board recommendation. Voting is April 4.
Fire Equipment/Safety Control Dave reported that the two companies he is comparing now appear to be about the same price. He did not have figures with him.
Adjournment – With no further matters before the board, at 7:12 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
