Board of Trustees Meeting
|January 14, 2019

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, January 14, 2019.  Ray Rogers called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.  Trustees in attendance were Anne Meyer-McCright, Paul Pardo and Karen Turner.  Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present.

Citizen’s Input   No citizens were present

Secretary’s Report   The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. A card from Deb Wyffels thanking the board for the Christmas bonus and raise was read aloud.  Kathi Fluck also thanked the Board for the bonus.  A letter of thanks from Hillcrest Home for the Library’s donations for Christmas was also read.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid.  Jim reported the third installment on the Levy has been received.  Paul made a motion to pay the bills, Anne seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously by roll call vote.

Library Director’s Report   Please refer to Claire’s written report. 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Approve Resignation/Appoint New Board Member   Because Christine Bergren’s resignation was submitted and accepted in November, the Board had the option to appoint a new board member now or wait until after the election in May.  Since Lee Fluck has been approved by the Board to be a co-signer if Ray is not available to sign checks, they chose to wait until the election. 

NEW BUSINESS

Restroom  The Mens Restroom was vandalized twice, causing water to overflow into parts of the library.  That restroom is now locked and is only accessible by requesting the key at the check-out desk.  A security camera will be installed in the hall leading to that restroom so any further events will be recorded on the camera.

Light/Parking Lot  -  This has been installed.

Safety Issue  -  For the safety of its patrons, it was agreed that the library will be closed when weather conditions are dangerous (ice, sleet, blizzard conditions). 

Adjournment   With no further matters before the board, at 7:08 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
