Board of Trustees Meeting
June 12, 2017
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, June 12, 2017. President Bill Menendez called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Board members in attendance were Christine Bergren, Holly McAvoy and Ray Rogers. Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present.
Citizen’s Input John Loucks made a presentation to the board.
Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed.
Oath of Office Tara Jimenez and Paul Pardo were sworn in as Trustees.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid. The Financial Report was reviewed and will be filed for the auditors. Jim reminded the board that the fiscal year ends June 30. Paul moved that the bills be paid; Holly seconded the motion and it passed by roll call vote, all members in attendance voted “yes.”
At 6:59 pm Ray moved to go into Executive Session, seconded by Paul. No action was taken, and at 7:42 the board came out of Executive Session.
Staff Raises Ray made a motion that the non-salaried library personnel be given 2% raises to be effective January 1, 2018; Chris seconded the motion. By roll call vote, all members present voted “yes.”

Property John Loucks advised the board that the land adjacent to the Library was for sale.
Trustee e-mail addresses Deb created email addresses and passwords for the new trustees to use regarding board business.
Trustee Training Claire gave the new trustees information on the courses they need to take online.
Statement of Review Paul moved that a document ensuring that the Secretary’s Minutes for the last fiscal year had been reviewed and that no discrepancies were found. Chris seconded the motion and it passed by voice vote by all members in attendance. The document was then signed by the officers.
Prevailing Wage Act Tara moved to sign a statement that the Board agrees to the Prevailing Wage Act. Paul seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by voice vote. Documentation was signed.
Building and Maintenance Tax Chris made a motion to publish in the newspaper the Building and Maintenance Tax amount of 0.02, adding that this is not a new tax. Ray seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by voice vote.
Director Review Bill stated he will have a written review of Claire’s performance next month and that he will expect input from board members.
Adjournment With no further matters before the board, at 8:05 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
