Board of Trustees Meeting
June 10, 2019
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, June 10, 2019. Board President Ray Rogers called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Trustees in attendance were: Lee Fluck, Janet Klavohn, Carol Luciani and Kim Reynolds.
Citizen’s Input No citizens were present.
Secretary’s Report The minutes for the May meeting stand approved as printed. Several pieces of correspondence were read: a thank you card from Lee and Winnie Kane with a donation of $500; a letter of thanks from the AARP Tax-Aide Program; a letter from Interim City Administrator Dawn Tubbs explaining the need to donations to help with the OSLAD Grant for Richmond Hill Park; and a colorful poster from Southwest School’s Kindergarten class, thanking the Library for its programs.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid. Lee made a motion to pay the bills, Carol seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously by roll call vote.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Tentative Budget Jim discussed the budget process. Copies of the proposed tentative budget were made available to the Trustees. Kim moved that the Board approve the tentative budget; Carol seconded the motion and by roll call vote, all members in attendance voted “yes.”
Per Capita Grant The Public Library Per Capita Grants Program assists public libraries to improve and increase library services within their service areas. The amount the library will ask for will be determined soon.
NEW BUSINESS
Building & Maintenance Tax It was explained that this must be published in the paper. Carol made a motion to accept this tax; Kim seconded it, and all members in attendance voted “yes.”
Prevailing Wage Carol moved to adopt the Prevailing Wage Act; Janet seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by all members in attendance. Ray signed the Notice of Ordinance regarding this issue.
Insurance Claire received a proposal for insurance from an insurance agent in town. She will ask our insurance carrier to submit a proposal to decide which is more cost efficient.
Landscaping Steve’s Nursery will clear out all the thistles that have invaded the bushes in front of the library’s sign and prepare it so this doesn’t happen again.
