Board of Trustees Meeting
June 8, 2020

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, June 8, 2020. President Ray Rogers called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. Trustees in attendance were Lee Fluck, Janet Klavohn, Carol Luciani, Paul Pardo, Kim Reynolds and Karen Turner.

Citizen’s Input No citizens were in attendance.

Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid Paul made a motion to pay the bills, Carol seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously by roll call vote. Paul moved to approve the financial report; Carol seconded it, and it was passed unanimously by roll call vote. Paul made a motion to increase the credit amount for Visa for the new fiscal year to $1,000 to allow for easier bill paying. Carol seconded the motion and all members voted “yes.”

Happenings at the Library Tax service has been suspended. All summer programs have been suspended, however, many virtual programs will be available on the website. A blood drive for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will be held from 10 am to 2 pm but no patrons will be allowed in the library for anything other than blood donations. Materials have been sanitized for 7 days. In August, per the Governor’s orders, we will “return to normal” but only six computers will be available to maintain social distancing.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Digital Sign Was approved by the City Council and will be installed soon.

Building The building tax will be in the paper.

NEW BUSINESS

Curbside Service Is well-received by our patrons.

Opening July Per Governor Pritzker, the plan is to reopen July 1 for one hour per person per day with social distancing being observed, with a limit of no more than 50 patrons in the library at a time.

Budget The 2020-2021 budget was presented and reviewed. Kim made a motion to approve it and Paul seconded the motion. All board members voted “yes” to approve it.

Website The new programs available will be added to the website.

Adjournment With no further matters before the board, at 7:45 pm, the meeting adjourned.
