Board of Trustees Meeting
May 8, 2017
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, May 8, 2017. President Bill Menendez called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Board members in attendance were Christine Bergren, Mary Farrell, Dave Johnson, Holly McAvoy, Craig Patterson and Ray Rogers. Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present.

Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. A thank you letter from a high school class was read.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid. Jim reported that the amount the library will receive this year is 1.8% less than from 2016. The Financial Report was reviewed and will be filed for the auditors. Holly moved that the bills be paid; Craig seconded the motion and it passed by roll call vote, all members in attendance voted “yes.”
Library Director’s Report Please refer to Claire’s written report. Claire was unable to attend the meeting because she was a funeral of a family friend.
New Officers Elected Because the positions of treasurer and secretary would be vacated when the new board is in place, the following election was held:
Bill Menendez - president, nominated by Holly, Chris seconded by Chris
Holly McAvoy - vice-president, nominated by Ray, seconded by Craig
Ray Rogers – treasurer, nominated by Chris, seconded by Holly
Chris Bergren – secretary, nominated by Holly, seconded by Ray
Installation of New Board Member Trustees Mary Farrell, Dave Johnson and Craig Patterson were thanked for their service on the board. Incoming Trustee Lee Fluck was sworn in for a two-year term. Neither Tara Jimenez nor Paul Pardo were able to attend this meeting and will be sworn in next month.

Per Capita Grant Receipt of the monies from this are delayed until June or July. The money usually comes in March.
Adjournment – With no further matters before the board, at 7:00 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
