Board of Trustees Meeting
October 10, 2016
The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room B at the library on Monday, October 10, 2016. President Bill Menendez called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. Board members in attendance were Chris Bergren, Dave Johnson, Holly McAvoy, Craig Patterson and Ray Rogers. Deb Wyffels, Assistant Director, was also present.
Citizen’s Input No citizens were present.
Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed. A note written by Linda Campbell thanking the staff for providing wonderful service was read aloud.
At 7:05 pm the board went into Executive Session. Claire and Deb were asked to remain in the room. At 7:52 pm, the board came out of Executive Session. No action was taken.
Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid The Financial Report was reviewed and will be filed for the auditors. Ray made a motion that the bills be paid; Dave seconded the motion and it passed by roll call vote, all members in attendance voted “yes.”

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Snow Removal Dave provided a breakdown of costs for snow removal from the last five years for Blizzard Busters and PABCO. Craig made a motion that we continue to employ both companies for snow removal on the parking lot and on the sidewalks. Holly seconded the motion and it passed by roll call vote with all members present voting “yes.”
Receipts and Disbursements A statement of receipts and disbursements was put in the paper. A copy at the meeting was signed and notarized.|
NEW BUSINESS
Wasps Claire reported that there have been wasp nests under the windows. Emerick Pest Control removed them. Caulking will be done to close the gaps where they nested.
Christmas party This year the employees are going to Sweet Peas for their Christmas party, so a $25 Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate will be given to each employee.
Signature Document Jim Luikart asked the board members to sign a new resolution for access to the library’s account because of a change of employees at Miller Farm Business.
Blackhawk Bank Dave reported on securing a CD at this bank.
Tax Levy Jim reported that about 98% of the tax levy has been received. The remaining amount will come later due to late payments by residents.
Adjournment – With no further matters before the board, at 8:11 p.m., the meeting adjourned.
