Board of Trustees Meeting
October 14, 2019

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room B at the library on Monday, October 14, 2019.  Board President Ray Rogers called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Trustees in attendance were:  Lee Fluck, Janet Klavohn, Carol Luciani, Kim Reynolds, Karen Turner and Ray Rogers.

Citizen’s Input   No citizens were present.

Secretary’s Report   The minutes for the September meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid   Jim reported that the second installment of the tax levy arrived.  Ray made a motion to approve the Financial Report and Kim seconded the motion; it passed unanimously by roll call vote.  Lee made a motion to pay the bills, Kim seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously by roll call vote.

Library Director’s Report   Please refer to Claire’s written report. 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Adjacent Property   A proposal for purchasing the adjacent land was discussed.  Janet made a motion to approve the offer the board decided was fair after contacting a realtor.  Kim seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by roll call vote.  This proposal will be presented by Betsy Brudos and Ray.

Tax Levy   Jim discussed the proposed projected tax levy for the period of July 2020 to June 2021.  Lee made a motion to approve it, Karen seconded the motion; and all members voted unanimously to approve it.

NEW BUSINESS

Holidays for 2020   Claire reported that there will be some changes in holidays taken off, but the amount of days will remain the same. 

Christmas Bonus   Claire requested that the employees get a $100 Christmas bonus.  Janet made a motion to give the employees a $100 Christmas bonus, Karen seconded it, and it passed unanimously by roll call vote.   

Adjournment   With no further matters before the board, the meeting ended at 7:38 p.m.
