Board of Trustees Meeting
October 9, 2023

The Board of Trustees of the Geneseo Public Library District met in Foundation Room A at the library on Monday, October 9, 2023. Board President Karen Turner called the meeting to order at 6:27 p.m. Members in attendance were Karen Cathelyn, Lee Fluck, Janet Klavohn, Ray Rogers and Monica Vorac.

Citizen’s Input No citizens were present.

Secretary’s Report The minutes from last month’s meeting stand approved as printed.

Financial Report/Bills to Be Paid Monica moved to pay the current bills. Ray seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote. Karen C. moved to approve the Financial Report. Karen T. seconded the motion and all members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.

Happenings at the Library Library Attorney Phil Lenzini stated that libraries must post their agendas on the front door. Topics may be discussed at meetings but only topics listed on the agenda can be voted on.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Building IronClad has completed the Server Rack Migration and Phone System Upgrade. Details were discussed with the board. It was agreed that a check should be cut to for expenses incurred.

Children’s Dept Karen T. would like to form a committee of parents, board members and library employees to review the needs of this area. She would like to utilize the Art Department and the Building Trades Department at the high school for decoration and furniture creation. Ray will contact the Building Trades Department.

Technology The Foundation Room Audio/Visual Update phase was presented. Karen T. made a motion to approve the plan. Jan seconded the motion. All members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.

NEW BUSINESS

Phil Lenzini Agendas must be posted on the front door and only topics listed in the agenda may be voted on.

Tentative Budget The Tentative Budget was presented and reviewed. Monica moved to accept it and Lee seconded the motion. All members in attendance voted “yes” by roll call vote.

Insurance Claire was approached by another insurance agent who would like to bid the library. Claire feels the provider we have now does a fine job.

Adjournment With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
